Evolved Resolutions - 2020

God it's December already! Scary how time moves so fast!

It's almost the end of the year and it's the time when I will ponder about what I've been doing this past year. Other than looking at the back, one of the thing that I do to prepare myself for the new year is to make a resolution. So I'm gonna do one for next year!

As you might already know, I always do new year resolutions each year. Making resolutions is not really my family's culture, but I do it as a fun thing to celebrate the coming of the new year.

Now to think back about what I've done with my last years resolutions, I realized I never really lived my year based on the resolutions, whoops. I'm literally just making resolutions as a way to celebrate, not really using it as to-do list for my life. I'll make it at the beginning of the year, not actively trying to achieve the goals, and then I'll follow up what I've been doing by the end of the year. ...Well I guess we all know why I never really tick every boxes.

Since now I know everything that is wrong, I'm trying to make a better resolution for 2020. So let's call it "evolved resolutions". It has evolved, like a Pokemon. It's no longer a rookie.

My plan is: I'm trying to make my resolutions as if it's a KPI for my life, so I'm gonna divide them into 3Qs. I'm gonna make the overall goal of the year, and then chunk them into 3 parts. The chunks can be a progression of one goal for a couple Qs, or it can be a different goal in different Q.

Okay, so let's get into this..

2020 Resolutions
Get a driving license
☐ Get a new job
☐ Write 1 blog post every week
☐ Get 1 medal from a running event
☐ Get an industrial piercing
☐ Find 1 cafe for Tidbits to supply
☐ Go to 1 music festival
☐ Go to 1 stand up comedy
☐ Keep your body weight under X2 kg
☐ Spare some money from monthly income
☐ Start the vaccination for Mokka

↠ Q1 Resolutions

↠ Q2 Resolutions
Get a driving license
Get 1 blog post every 2 weeks
Find 1 cafe for Tidbits to supply
Spare some money from monthly income

↠ Q3 Resolutions
Get 1 blog post every week
Get 1 medal from a running event
Get an industrial piercing
Go to 1 music festival
Go to 1 stand up comedy
Keep your body weight under X2 kg
☐ Start the vaccination for Mokka

So now that I have an actual 'what' and 'when' for 2020 resolutions, it's way easier for me to follow up on. It will be my actual to-do lists for what I should achieve next year, in order to grow to be the person I want to be.

If you want, you can try for yourself; maybe it will work for yourself too.

..

A couple days ago I asked my instagram followers about how they make their resolutions, and I love one of the answers. You can try this way too, if you want to focus on overcoming your weaknesses:

In addition, after picking 5 weaknesses that you want to overcome for the next year, you can break each thing into mini goals as well. Some people will find it easier to do plenty small goals that will accumulate and completing the big goal, so maybe that's your thing.

In the end, for me resolutions are there to keep us entertained about life and added more value to the new year. There are something I need to do, I can't stop now. They're there to keep life interesting.
